S/Sgt. Fred Riley

The following is an open letter from Fred Riley to all Red Devils:

June 29, 2006

Hi Red Devil Friends,

It's time again to start thinking about our annual reunion, at the Eisenhower Inn at Gettysburg, Pa., on the weekend after Labor Day.  The phone number is 1-800-776-8349 for reservations.  Emily and I have reservations for a late arrival on the 8th of Sept.  We hope to see you there!

Three years ago, Ed Marvin gave me a B Co. picture.  Since then, I have tried to remember the names of all the guys in the picture.  I can remember about 90.  Maybe we can get together and come up with the rest of the names at the reunion.

The 702 has been asked to participate in some sort of a memorial service with the 80th Division at Fort Benning, Ga.  Pete Porreca has the details for anyone who would like to attend.  I think maybe Tom Barry and I might attend.

Emily and I were sorry we couldn't make the reunion last year because of multiple health reasons, and this year we also have had our problems, but now we seem to be on the mend, and are looking forward to seeing you all again.

At this time, I wish to say how lucky I was to have the privilege of serving in the Army with the greatest bunch of guys in the world, in the best damned tank battalion in the Army!  Thanks Guys!

Yours Truly,

Fred Riley
