World War Two Battlefield Relics

The World War 2 Virtual Museum.  Fighting from the Normandy Bocage, the Ardennes, to the Battle for Berlin, what remains to be seen today?  On this site you will be able to view exhibits that have been found on battlefields across Europe and beyond as well as items in private collections.  The aim of this site is to give those interested in WW2 militaria a chance to view some of the many artifacts left behind after the battle.  Many exhibits now belong in private collections or to museums.  Descriptions accompany items illustrated.  Items are attributed to specific units, if possible.  In some cases they have also tried to speculate as to the circumstances of their loss in action. Well worth your visit!

 3rd Armored Division

If you served in the 3d Armored Division between 1941 and 1992, this is your matter what rank, position, unit, or time frame you served in.  By the end of 1944, the 3d Armored Division had earned its wartime sobriquet "Spearhead" by leading every advance of VII Corps and First Army in France and Central Europe.  After WWII, the 3d Armored Division inactivated.  The Spearhead veterans of the brutal battlefields of Europe were to continue the tight camaraderie borne of extremely tough times.  When their turn came to go home, the men of the Spearhead Division formed an association known as "The Third Armored Division Association 1941-1945".  Early on the WWII Association did many great things, including funding a Children's' hospital.
